The Summer Crusher combines the sweetness of strawberries with the smoky spice of chipotle. The Modelo Especial gives it the perfect balance for summer crushability.
Rim a mason jar with a salt and ground chipotle pepper mixture about half an inch down the jar.
Fill the jar to the tip top with crushed ice.
Combine tequila, syrup and fresh lime juice into a shaker with ice.
Shake 18-20 times.
Strain over the crushed ice and top with Modelo Especial.
Salt & Ground Chipotle Rim, Strawberry *Bartender Notes: Strawberry Chipotle Syrup
12-15 Medium to Large Strawberries
3 cups of Water
1 tsp. Chipotle
1 cup SugarBoil water. Using a coffee grinder or mortar & pestle, grind chipotle to a fine powder. Blend strawberries in a blender. First, add chipotle to the water, then lower the temperature and add strawberries. Let simmer for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Turn off heat, add sugar and stir until completely dissolved. Let cool.
